The First Monday in May

Welcome back everyone! Alright so if you are a fashion aficionado or follow fashion then you know that the annual fashion exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute in New York was held yesterday. It is regarded as one of the biggest art events of every year and the part everyone looks forward to is the Met Gala which is basically the launch party.

Every year the event revolves around a specific theme and the red carpet never disappoints. This years theme was a controversial one, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” The overall exhibit is “designed to create a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks for religious art in the museum’s holdings.” I mean I get it religion is the definition of controversy but, come on people lighten up, its art. Anyway, the Met Gala is not just the biggest red carpet of the year, it is also a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, which is awesome and it raises a lot of money every year.

Because it is fashion’s biggest night I decided to share with you all some of my FAVORITE looks from the night. Check them out below!

Of course there were so many amazing looks at the gala but these are just my absolute favorite. I would say my top two looks are Zendaya’s Joan of Arc and Blake Lively, I love Blake’s style so she’s my favorite in general. If you are into fashion, into art, or just love the idea of the Met Gala, let me know what some of your favorite looks are or if there are any looks from above that you really dig. Have a great Tuesday!
